the Pink carpet

Like every other SATC fan…I am absolutely ecstatic about the new Sex and the City movie releasing tomorrow! Even thought I am on vacation, “I really hope that my girls will wait for me to return home to see the movie together!” (just a little hint)

For a girls night out, start the night with a “Carrie Berry Tini” a mix of vodka, chambord, pomegranate juice, splash of OJ, and a lime garnish. Yummy!!! Then head to your local theaters to watch the SATC movie. I am super excited to see what’s the deal with that over the top wedding dress I have seen on Carrie in the previews!

For your visual enjoyment, below are some photos from the “Pink Carpet” premiere of SATC!!!

Hot, Hot, Hot!

I am absolutely in love with this spicy summer board from Elizabeth Anne Designs. These ladies always have such great inspirations.

Green Inspiration

Although I am on vacation, I just couldn’t resist showcasing this beautiful tablescape that I saw on Toast and Tables. Enjoy!

Southern Girl!

So here I am at Gate A26 in the DFW airport waiting to board my plane to Birmingham, AL. As you may remember from my top 4 things post, my grandma and I used to go to Alabama every summer to visit family. It feels so great to be making this trip since I haven’t been back since my grandma eventually moved to Alabama in 2001. This will be James’s first trip there, so I am excited for him to see my childhood summer spot and to meet all the extended family I have out there.

Being a true California girl, I am not sure if I am ready for the muggy, humid weather…well, I don’t know if my hair is ready for it. :-) But, I am definitely ready to eat my heart out for the 5 days that I will be there. Then James and I will head to New Orleans for 5 days to eat some more…listen to jazz, and just enjoy ourselves. I will be back in the office on Monday, June 2nd. Have a wonderful and safe Memorial weekend everyone!

Can’t wait to stay at the W New Orleans…the W is our fave hotel chain!

Not your parent’s wedding video…

Most people don’t realize how far wedding videos have come over the years. The technology and editing style has evolved into a beautiful piece of art that you actually want to watch again and again. Wedding videos, like photos have the ability to preserve the memories from your wedding day. However, my favorite thing about video is that you can see and hear the emotion in your voice as you recite your vows, or the beautiful toast from your father about how he is so very proud of this moment for you. The day goes by so fast, and there are beautiful memories that you may miss out on, or may not even remember. Having a wedding video will mean that you can see and relive the day. My husband explained it best when he told me that a picture is worth a thousand words…but video is worth a thousand pictures.

One of my favorite videographers Elysium Productions, is proof of how wedding videos have changed. I am absolutely in love with their artistic, movie style way of editing. If you haven’t had a chance to see their work, take a look at their demo reel below. You can also visit their blog to see video highlights from their recent weddings. Elysium also started a sister company called Luvbug Films which caters to couples that want a great video, but may not have the budget for Elysium.

So if you are scarred by wedding videos of the past; make sure to take a look at how cutting edge videos have become. Say goodbye to cheesy 80’s videos, and hello to movie style productions of your wedding day!
