photo friday!

2009 has been a year for many thanks…but i will share one that means the most to me and my family. i am so very thankful to god for allowing challenges in our lives, to show how strong we are to overcome them.

what are you most thankful for this year?

today’s touching photo by jerry yoon is definitely something to be thankful for: love, family, a new beginning!

photo friday!

my name is christina, i am 29, and i am in love the twilight saga…yup no shame over here! no shame that we bought our tickets for last night’s midnight showing a couple months ago. no shame that yesterday i wore my cute little “alice-inspired” outfit with the same velvet cullen family crest necklace she wears in the movie. no shame for waiting outside the theater 3 hours last night with my chair and laptop alongside my hubby, good friend yvett and her brother ryan. no shame that as soon as the movie started i screamed with delight. yup, that’s right….like i said, my name is christina and i love twilight!

in honor of new moon’s release today, i had to showcase this super cool “twilight-inspired” photoshoot shot by pure photography by lindsey tropf. now if you are familiar with the series, it’s not meant to be a replica of the story…but it’s definitely a fun twist!

ps. i am team edward…what about you?

designer inspirations: jonathan adler

one of my favorite things to learn during consultations with new couples is what designers and stores inspire their personal style and home decor. where you shop, what designers you like, and how you decorate your home says obviously quite a bit about you…but hopefully it also says how you would like your wedding to be stylized. Whether your look is more hollywood regency, vintage, clean-lined, organic, trendy…these are questions that help me to figure out what speaks to you, and in turn what wedding vision fits your personality.

while i truly do love to play with the organic, vintage look, which is very “in” right now…my personal “go-to” style will always be simple, clean lined and modern. when i had my 1st apartment, it had a japanese simplicity to it…low platform bed, clean lines, with all white furniture and decor. years later, my style is still simple but i have also developed a huge love for bright and fun color in my decor; i call it “a splash of the unexpected”.

jonathan adler has that quirky, happy-chic “splash of the unexpected” look that i am so loving lately. i mean come on…how killer are these mrs & mrs salt and pepper shakers…totally cute, and totally fun! just to play around with the fun colors, i thought i would show you how easy it is to pull together a cool tangerine wedding inspired from orange striped jonathan alder mug! what this mug says to me is fun, hip, and bright…so below is the wedding inspiration that i had for this mug.

who is one of your favorite designers and what “look” do they have?

over the past year, i have developed a crazy love affair for short wedding gowns.

not only are they just adorably sweet and fun, i also love how you can really show off those super cute shoes that you spent forever looking for. top off your look with a flirty birdcage veil…and you are one chic bride!

so in honor of my short gown love affair, i just had to feature this beautifully timeless shot by corbin gurkin!

playful party in popping pink!

i love color. no, i really really love bright colors!!! especially for things like clothes, weddings, home decorating, or like in this case…a party!

a few weeks ago, i ran across these amazing images of audrey’s 1st birthday party and almost fell out of my chair and cracked my head! okay, probably not as dramatic…but i really think that abby of style me pretty seriously rocked the bubblicious (um thinking pink, okay?) out of her daughter’s birthday party. with abby’s blog full of so many inspiring wedding details, i am not surprised that she found some great DIY ideas to include for audrey’s birthday bash!

i just adore the bubble tin favors, the drink stirrers, as well as the petting zoo. this is one fantastically adorable 1st birthday party! not only is it super cute and full of fabulous details, but it looks like audrey had lots of fun too!

studio foto is blowing me away right now with these detail shots below! for more great photos from the party, check out studio foto’s blog…and to get more details about the party, check out abby’s post i, ii, iii, and iv!
