alice revisited!

now that i am back in blog world, i just have to share the rest of the details and images from this fabulously wonderful alice inspired collaboration!

when photographer kim le contacted me about styling an alice in wonderland shoot for her, i jumped for joy! first of all, i just adore kim…also i loved reading the alice stories growing up, so i was excited to put a fun twist with it! when i met with kim and the florist helen to chat about the vision and storyboard for the shoot, kim said she wanted to do the shoot within a week…i almost fainted! ahhh, one week?! now as i look over how it turned out, it’s a true testament to how an awesome team can make things come together beautifully, even when there is a time crunch. i am overjoyed with how everything came together, and it’s all due to the fabulous vendor team!

kim wanted a very ethereal whimsical alice tea party, so helen concoted this crazy floating teacup structure which has the feel of a moss covered tree with floral teacups for branches. she even painted some real mushrooms pink and purple for the base of the floral tree. i am so in love with her creativity!

our table was a random mix of china and vintage books we found in thrift stores and antique shops. with the beautiful rentals by classic party rentals, wildflower linens, and fusion linens this gave us the whimsical “crazy yet pulled together” look we were going for!

the yummy macaroons at the place settings were from layer cake bakery…everyone had a hard time not gobbling them up while we were setting the table. as if that weren’t enough, sugar|tart bakery dropped off picture perfect cupcakes for the shoot as well. talk about a sugar high!

darla marie designs created these amazing paper goods. i let her know that we wanted the invitation to be fashioned like a playing card, and she did a wonderful job designing everything with the beautiful, soft colors we were going for. my favorite was the place cards we tied to each of the chairs with twine.

you may remember that my dear friend kristin with treasured petal boutique has lots of little lovely accessories for the bride, so i asked her if we could use some of her pieces for the shoot. she even surprised me by creating some custom pieces just for the shoot that were inspired by fashion shows & alice. i just adored the modern take on alice’s traditional black headband!

speaking of headband and accessories, our model lauren was styled by my favorite hair & makeup team from all made up. lauren is very beautiful to begin with, but vivian’s team made sure she was extra “pow” for the shoot. just look at those eyes!

much love and thanks to everyone involved…you all rocked it out beyond our imagination! also, huge thank you to abby and her team over at style me pretty for featuring our shoot, i am extremely honored!
