wednesday tip: ombre pumpkin design diy

inspired by kerisa’s post on pumpkin painting the other day, and with our family pumpkin picking finds this past sunday…i thought i’d share this fabulous diy that i am going to “attempt” on our pumpkins this year.

note, i said “attempt” because unlike kerisa & kate…i am FAR from a diy kinda gal!! i get too caught up in the perfection of something, that i never actually like my own diy projects. but i do try, and sometimes (like the case with the ombre lampshade in my son’s nursery) i actually love and am super proud of how my “attempts” turn out!!

if you are diy scaredy cat like me, this ombre painted pumpkin tutorial i found on funkytime seems simple enough to create. not to mention it makes for some pretty stylish looking fall decor!!!!

1: spray paint the pumpkin white (as a base).

2: paint the bottom with the darkest hue. Pink in my case.

3: paint the center orange. Next, paint the 3rd section with your lightest color, white.

4: blend the colors together with a slightly wet cotton ball , until areas and lines bleed together.

can’t be too hard right?? i’m actually really excited to try it out!!! thank you SO SO much funkytime!!!
