their wedding was at a private mansion in connecticut which overlooks the long island sound. it was a beautiful, emotional, fun, detail filled, fabulousness day…and we are so honored and blessed to have shared in this very special moment with them! and yes, the ever fashionable “mr bow-tie” brian khang did not disappoint with the fashion for the guys…rented tuxes are a filthy word to him! hence, their aptly named “is that jcrew?” video snippet from shade tree films.

you know how i love me some wedding videography…okay well i love me some…”good wedding videography”! shade tree films impressed my socks off (or heels, you know what i mean!). they are amazing at what they do and have a fabulous filming style! from this experience alone, they are now on my list of favorite video peeps. oh yes, and they are southern ca based…so you should most definitely check them out.

for those that have been following me for a while, you know how long i have been dying to redesign my site! well, after much design back & forth with james (my husband/assistant/web developer guru) i decided to scratch what we were working on and start fresh. after all, i’m a big girl and know best what i want, and james has way too many things on his plate to work with my ever changing mind. better to save his sanity! haha!

with my website i wanted to have the same aesthetic as i designed in my blog, but just a bit more streamlined…so you will notice that the smw butterfly was phased out for the website. of course i still love a clean white palette with a splash of my signature teal blue, so that was a serious must. my site also had to showcase the beauty & love of some recent couples that i have been so blessed to work with!

for those of you out there looking to redesign your site, let me just say that i am beyond stoked with creative motion designs! they allowed me to take control and customize my site out the way i wanted. not to mention, they have the best customer service & development team ever; always so quick to answer my endless questions and make sure my site was nothing short of perfect. thanks to mike, peter, and morgan…you guys rock!

i have an ever growing referral base of photographers that i just adore, all ranging in style, personality, and pricing. so my couples know that when i refer 3-4 for them, they are really getting to pick from the best!

because our industry in southern california is so vast, i am always meeting “new to me” photographers that i fall in love with. yesterday was one of those days. trina and i met at a quaint little spot in laguna called zinc cafe (a must go to!) and chatted about our love for photography and what we do!

paperwhites photography is a collaboration of best friends trina and darcy, and their style is just amazing! they shoot in film, which gives their work a very soft & artistic feel. just really focusing on the natural fabulousness coming through their lens! as i looked through the albums, the small details & beautiful moments they captured truly touched me and really told the story of the wedding.

love…love…love the telling of the story!

a couple months ago, the utterly engaged girls had a party to ring in the new year with a little friendly tablescape competition between teams of wedding designers. in the end, there were a total of 13 teams, with some super creative designs to battle it out for chance to be the winner. although i loved my team’s table the best (of course!), i will say that every team had some really cool elements in their design that i thought was absolutely genius!

this is why i am so very excited and honored to be a part of wish upon a wedding. this is a newly created nonprofit organization that helps produce weddings for terminally ill patients across america. there are so many great ways to get involved with this amazing organization, you can make a donation, couples can donate on behalf of their guests as wedding favors, and wedding professionals can join me in becoming a wish grantor or committee volunteer. wish upon a wedding is making dreams come true, and that is truly fabulous!
