A Modern Bridal Event

This Sunday is A Soolip Wedding, SoCal’s premier bridal event for the hip, stylish bride and groom. The event will feature conversations with the experts, cake and champagne, raffle prizes, and a fashion show featuring Carolina Herrera gowns. I am so excited to see Rene with R. Jack Balthazar again…his work has always been a huge inspiration to me!! He will be one of the expert speakers presenting “Inspiration is in the Details”…a definite must-see!

This year also marks the 2nd year that A Soolip Wedding will be featuring a Green Wedding, to assist couples with using eco-friendly options throughout their wedding planning process. Make sure to check out their website for more information and to purchase tickets.

Below is the invitation and a few photos from last year’s event courtesy of the very cool Jules Bianchi. Hope to see you there!

Wedding Coordination Contest!

Only a little over a week left to get your entries in for the free wedding coordination contest. So make sure to have them in by the April 1st deadline. I am so excited to see everyone’s stories! Click here for more information about the contest.

For some eye candy, here is a lovely inspiration board from Elizabeth Anne Designs. How cute are those shoes?!

Yesterday was officially the first day of Spring! It’s time to think bright and fun colors for this sassy season. For those looking for a little spring chic, here is my “spring has sprung” inspiration board.

More new stuff…

Many of you may already be familiar with Wedding Paper Divas. It’s the really cool website that specializes in hip bridal shower invites, thank you cards, wedding invites, and so much more. Well, you may not know that they have also started a blog called Diva Dialogue. I know…I am addicted to cool blogs!

The ladies over at Wedding Paper Divas have let me know that as of today, they are officially launching their new letterpress collection. Stay tuned for more information on this, but in the meantime below is some eye candy from this beautiful collection!

Easter is almost here

Speaking of which, I seriously cannot wait to start drinking soda again! Every time I give something up for Lent, it becomes #1 on my craving list. So after Easter, I plan to have a yummy rootbeer float from The Counter! :-)

With yesterday’s post about the amazing Wedding Chicks blog, I thought it would be fun to post about these other “cool chicks” I found in my daily blog reading. Look at that cute cake topper!

A new blog for you!

They are at it again! A couple of weeks ago I posted about Amy Squires and JoceyBella teaming up for the “Wedding Chicks Contest” which gives all you cool brides a chance to win free photography and save the dates. (hurry…there are only 2 more days left to enter this contest!)

Now this fabulous duo has teamed up to create the Wedding Chicks. This new blog is jam packed with tons of great information about weddings, fashion, and anything else a cool chick would want to know. “Stylish Weddings for Sassy Chicks”…I just LOVE that tagline!!! :-)

Be sure to check their blog out on a regular basis to stay in the loop on what’s fresh and chic in weddings and style!

my big announcement…

Watching Oprah’s Big Give has given me a lot to think about with regards to the blessings I have in my life. As I sat crying during the 1st episode I wondered what I could do to help someone in need. Then it hit me…

From now until April 1st, I will be running a contest to give my “Simple” package to 1 lucky couple. This package is for my wedding coordination services, which is wrapping up all the final details with regards to your wedding, as well as coordinating the wedding rehearsal and wedding day.

Send me the story of a couple that you believe has overcome great odds and are deserving of something special to help them on their wedding day. Maybe that couple is you…if so, I would love to hear your story. I am looking forward to reading all the entries and truly helping to make a difference in someone’s day!

basic rules/info for the contest:
1. entries must be 300 words max and include a photo of the couple
2. wedding must take place between May 2008 and May 2009, (based on availability)
3. wedding must be located in OC or LA
4. you can nominate yourself or a friend (please, no fake stories)
5. email your entries to info@simplymodernweddings.com by 7pm PST on April 1, 2008

I will post the top 3 entries on the blog and the winner will be selected by myself and a team of judges. Good luck!!!

"power of touch"

So in follow up to my New Year’s post where I hinted at something I was working on for Simply Modern Weddings…I present you with my new business cards!

They were custom designed by the wonderful Sally Ann over at Invited Ink. When I contacted her back in December, I was a bit hesitant only because I loved my current logo and business cards, but after having them for 3 years, I wanted to change it up a bit. She was able to take my current designs and put a “fresh. chic. simple.” spin on it. Plus…they are letterpressed!!!

So along with linens, lighting and all other wedding details…I have a HUGE fascination with letterpress! There is just something so cool about it. Maybe it’s because I just love touching things. :-) Many of you know that your first correspondence to your wedding guests (whether it’s save the dates or invitations) is the perfect way to set the tone for the wedding. So why not set this tone with the “power of touch”? Give your guests something to look forward to by sending a fabulous letterpress invitation that they can’t stop running their fingers across!

Invited Ink has such beautiful work at wonderful prices, so it should definitely be on your “must see” list! She can also custom design almost anything you want. I absolutely love the work she did for me and her customer service is superb!
