Photo Friday

This has been an unusually slow blog week, but I promise you that it’s well worth it. Lately, I have been working with some of the most amazing clients to create a truly unique wedding day for them. I can’t wait till their wedding to show you all the fabulousness!

In the meantime, here is your bit of eye-candy to get the weekend started. I just love the feel of this photo by kate headley, it captures the perspective of that special moment when a bride is about to walk down the aisle. When I attend weddings as a guest (which is very rare) this is my favorite moment…then I like to look back over to the groom to see his expression of seeing his future wife.

Photo Friday!

I am heading out to Montecito today to help a friend on a wedding…so I am keeping this post short and sweet!

Our Labor of Love seriously rocks it out with their cool style of photography! This shot looks like it was taken right after the bride and groom were announced husband and wife. If there was a comic strip caption for this photo, it would say “YEAH!”.

For more fun photos, head on over to their blog!

gotta love this!

Piperlime is one of my favorite sites to buy shoes from. They always have killer deals…and I especially love that they are connected to my other favorite online stores Banana Republic, Gap, and Old Navy. This way I can shop all the stores at once, for one combined shipping price…a potentially bad situation!

So I was especially pleased when I found out that they just teamed up with InStyle Weddings to showcase various shoes to go with InStyle’s top looks for brides and bridesmaids. Take a look at their wedding chic section and let me know what you think.

I just adore the Claudia Ciuti “Kaba” shoe…which shoe is your favorite?

It's my wedding…I'll play rock if I want to!

For those of you that missed last month’s Bloomingdales “Pre-Wedding” Party featuring Lisa from Oh Chow Charming, I thought I would share some tidbits from the event.

Lisa’s candid chat about finding ways to infuse your personalities into your wedding was very inspiring. She gave some really great examples of how she uses food, decor, and music to bring individuality in her own client’s events. I especially loved when the trio from Supernova played “Sweet Child of Mine” by Guns and Roses to show how favorite songs can even be incorporated in your ceremony music vs. saving for the reception.

The main point she stressed was to not feel so tied down to following wedding trends. Being a rule-breaker myself ;-) this is one thing I emphasize to all my clients. While wedding magazines and blogs are fun to look at and can provide helpful information…your wedding day should really be about the both of you, what you love and what makes you happy! Not so much about what the magazines say is “in”. Besides, no one ever remembers a cookie-cutter wedding…your guests will truly appreciate and remember you for doing a little of the unexpected.

Lisa was sweet enough to share the photos below shot by Aaron Delesie. I know normally I will do 1 photo collage of my favorite images…but I just couldn’t help myself. So I did 3!

Photo Friday!

There are so many amazing photographers in Southern CA…I don’t think I could ever attempt to pick a favorite. We are so very fortunate to be surrounded by such amazing talent. One such talent that I have recently fell in love with, is LA based photographer Max Wanger.

The images that I have seen on his blog really show the fun personalities of the couples that he shoots. I just love it when a couple is open to have fun with their engagement and wedding photos. I also love the emotions captured in his photos…it feels as if you are actually there experiencing what they are feeling.

This photo below truly captures the anticipation of a bride before putting on her gown on the wedding day. It gives me goosebumps as I remember feeling that way!
